Ch Seacrest Double Trigger From Glenfall

Trigger is out of HELLO DOLLY GLENFALL who was bought in from Pam Broughton on breeding terms. His sire was the formidable UK & Ire Ch Blueprint Beern Skittles At Walkon.

There was only 9 months age difference between Trigger and his kennelmate Danny (CH SEACREST DANOLI AT CARMONDENE) I kept both of them through their puppy careers, but I could really only afford to campaign one male so a decision had to be made. I loved both for their different traits, but Trigger was the better dog overall, so I found Danoli a show home where he could also realise his potential. This is where it got complicated, and my actions left him at a distinct disadvantage. I am totally left handed, and find it difficult to handle a dog the conventional way round. Thankfully in the UK that does not represent much of a problem as judges are expected to judge a dog as three dimensional. I handle all my dogs to the left, but Trigger had an unfortunate shoulder marking so he needed to be shown the other way round. I did not want to spoil any chances he may have by my own hand, so a friend stepped in to campaign him. At this time Danoli’s new owner asked me to handle him as she had trouble with show ring nerves.

Trigger gained his title, but I felt I let him down somewhat when I realised that people thought I was showing him as the second string to Danoli. Trigger was nobody’s second string and he could have done so much more if I had been able to handle him myself. As it was he had three handlers on the road to his title plus several “on the day aunties”

Trigger gained his crown at Manchester Ch show under the respected all rounder Derek Smith. This was a memorable day for two reasons, as the Reserve CC was taken by Danoli, and the Reserve Bitch CC was given to In the Wings. This meant three of the four green cards were awarded to Seacrest Boxers.

Trigger proved to be a solid producer. He didn’t get used much, as his sire Bundy was so prolific, but he sired enough winners to be in the shake up amongst the big guns for the Boxer Quarterly annual Top Sire awards, gaining a creditable 4th place in both 2000 and 2001. Not bad for a dog who only got 3 or 4 studs a year.
