Ch Seacrest Danoli At Carmondene

Danny’s mother, Piper Heidsiek at Seacrest, was a pick of litter brought back in lieu of stud fee. She was sired by CH TYEGARTH PACHERENC AT SEACREST. Piper was a lovely headed bitch built very much in the mould of her grand dam CH COMEDY OF ERRORS FROM SKELDER. She was not shown as she lived with non-showing friends of mine. Danoli arrived as a result of mating Piper to Ch Walkon Crocodile Dundee. His sister Seacrest Bosra Sham went to live with Piper where I could have a litter from her. I visited when she was 10 months old and was surprised to see how well she looked she possibly had the edge on Danny, but I had rashly promised she could live with her dam, so she was never shown.

Danny was shown with great success throughout his puppy career, however it was becoming increasingly difficult to do justice to both him and CH SEACREST DOUBLE TRIGGER FROM GLENFALL as they were close in age, and so I had to make a decision to let one of them go. I loved both these dogs for their varied qualities, but overall Trigger was the better dog, so Danny was sold into a show home to allow him the opportunity to fulfil his early potential.

Ironically this turned out to be a beginning not an end, when his new owner asked me to handle him, due to ring nerves. He was shown in joint names, and I handled him to 9 CC’S, 7 with BEST OF BREED, and 5 RESERVE CC’s. He was also awarded TOP BOXER 1999 by the British Boxer Club, and was DOG OF THE YEAR 2000, at the COTSWOLD BOXER CLUB NATIONAL FINALS handled on that day by Lynn Mair, as I was at home whelping my bitch. He was awarded GROUP 2 at BLACKPOOL, and GROUP 3 at CRUFTS.

I suppose the highlight of his career was CC & BEST OF BREED at CRUFTS 99 under Finnish all rounder Kari Jarvinen. During our “15 minutes of fame”, in the group at the only televised dog show in the UK we managed to be upstaged by a streaker, who did a lap of honour whilst the awards were being given out, at least it has ensured repeat TV exposure, albeit on late night programmes about streakers.

Contrary to some opinions Danny was not always an easy dog to handle. His CC career ended at SKC in May 2000, where he was awarded the Reserve CC on the final occasion that I handled him.
